Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney has been renowned as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a household worker. Her childhood was spent in a family with four other brothers. In childhood, Delaney dreamed of becoming an official reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercials when she moved from the south of England to New York. Her first acting job was as a teenager as a child in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney is a well-known actress, appearing in many films, TV movies, and dramas. The professional life she has had is better than her personal life. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of the sole child she had.
