Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work in conjunction with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on Oct 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was later released in September. Then, in November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
